Medical Clinic: There are no medical facilities in the village of Zziba.

Our goal is to establish a medical clinic to provide care for the needs of the children and the surrounding village.

Agriculture and Industry: Our financial model is to establish a self sustaining system to fufill the operating expenses of the campus by developing a program of agriculture and industry. The immediate plan is to focus on the agricultural program with crops and livestock.

Water and Electricity: Currently, in Zziba electric power is supplied by a generator and there is no running water in the village. The children walk a three mile round trip for all the water needs of the family. We plan to provide water and electricity for this family and the campus that will be developed.

Dream Fund: Every child dreams of growing up and achieving their goals. They dream about becoming a doctor, a lawyer, an engineer, a teacher, a pilot, the dreams are limitless. These children are no different except they do not have the resources to reach their full potential.

Olive Branch Ministries plans to create a ‘Dream Fund’ to provide for the dream fulfillment of each of these children. The ‘Dream Fund’ would provide the financial resource for the young people to be able to pursue higher education after they have finished secondary school. OBM is determined to make sure that no child’s dream is denied simply because of a lack of resources.

Zziba, Uganda

Deep in the heart of Uganda there was a selfless servant of God whose name was Pastor Joseph. Joseph and his wife were the “go to” people in the region for abandoned and neglected children. They cared for 24 children, half of which lived in their home, while the others lived with families in the community.

Joseph and his wife hadbeen doing this incredible act of kindness with virtually no outside support. Until in a series of “God orchestrated” events, Olive Branch Ministries was led to come alongside Pastor Joseph and these amazing children to “… give them a future and a hope.”

Tragically, January 2009, Pastor Joseph died very suddenly and unexpectedly. Though his death was a massive loss to us all, it did not change our overall direction and plans for the work God has begun with these wonderful children. The work is begining continued by his wife Edith and the entire church community.

GOALS

OBM is currently working to create the resources and opportunities necessary for “the Joseph Project” to increase and expand.

Housing: The house where Joseph and the children currently live is situated on 15 acres. There is an additional 15 acres available all of which has been committed to the OBM project. We want to improve and expand the existing house and construct a new facility to accommodate additional children in a more comfortable situation.

Education: In most all African countries the available public education is very subpar so therefore most all children who are able to pursue a higher quality education attend one of the 100’s of boarding schools in their country.

Primary School: Most of the children currently attend boarding schools in the area to obtain a higher quality education. Some of the children attend a school that is operated by Pastor Joseph and the Zziba church. This school is understaffed, poorly equipped and inadequately situated providing a poor educational experience for these children.

Our plan is to build a new school, one that provides a high standard of education, better facilities and equipment and well trained and qualified teachers to assist these children.

Secondary School: One of the most exciting discoveries so far was the discovery of Seroma Christian High School. The school provides everything OBM has dreamt of to prepare the young people for life itself as well as for taking their education to the next level by attending University. The spiritual, educational and physical environment is second to none. Our plan will be to send all of our secondary aged children to Seroma to complete their education.
